Dear Editor: I found Tony Soares' comments in last week's "Spending squabbles" article rather peculiar, yet revealing. In particular, why does Mr. Soares have to attack and single out two Hispanics only when the salary ordinance affects the entire city workforce, including police and firemen? Out of 221 titles Mr. Soares takes issue with two Hispanics and no one else? It just seems like Tony Soares is always attacking those who have lived and contributed to our community long before he knew that it existed. First, Tony attacks born and raised Hobokenites, and now two well-regarded and well-educated Hispanic leaders? Mr. Soares, enough already! Of course, he will say this could not be further from the truth. Blah, blah, blah! He will point to having Hispanics in his sham of a political organization. Mr. Soares, who is of European decent, would like people to believe he is pro-Hispanic. He thinks that by handing out lollipops and lottery tickets in the Housing Authority that constitutes being a friend to the Hispanic community. Mr. Soares, Hispanics cannot be bought! Hispanics throughout Hoboken have been well informed about your views toward the poor and less fortunate. Your last letter was anti-Hobokenite, now you are singling out two Hispanics. What's next? Your political game is slowly coming to an end. Elsa Gonzalez
